The game is themed around dogs and around all the usual objects people buy for their pets. It's a design which is heavy on the color purple, at least in the background image, which shows us an abstract image of the city at the top, with various red hearts and bones around the screen. On the reels, some of the images used are actual high value playing cards, starting with the 9 and ending with the A. The rest of the images include the hot dog (a lady dog), the Chihuahua, a dog bed, a dog collar, a comb and a bone. It uses a cartoon style for its design which aims mostly to be funny, not attractive.
The game's 9 lines can receive up to 9 coins when the wagers are formed. Each of these coins can vary in value though, starting at $0.01 and going all the way up to $5. There is a $45 maximum wager in this game, which can result in a payout of 8000 coins (up to $40,000).
The biggest payout of the game is offered with a combination of five dog bed symbols on the same line, which pay 4,000 coins. If one of the five symbols is a wild, the payout doubles to 8,000 coins.
The wild symbol is represented by the Hot Dog symbol, and it's limited to appearances on two of the five reels (1 and 5). When it does appear it will substitute for the other symbols. In the process it will also double the payouts of the combinations it helps form.
The scatter Chihuahua symbol is the other big feature offered by the game. Its scatter role allows it to appear anywhere on the screen and still award prizes, which should mean that you're more likely to benefit from it. Payouts start at 2x the bet when you have 2 scatter symbols, and go up to 5x for 3 scatters, 20x for 4 scatters and 200x the wager for 5 scatters.
3+ scatters will also act as triggers for a feature round, where the player picks cards, and the prize doubles each time he makes a correct selection (maximum payouts is 256x the bet).
It's a funny looking game which has some good payouts, and it should prove a fun way to spend some time if you're a fan of dogs.
